We can learn from all periods of history. Modern doesn't always mean it's better. Allow me to explain.

Examine: How we see time, friendships, art for its own sake, public infrastructure, the commons, privacy, the skills we teach.

Or how we interpret: entertainment, the media, our food, how we relate to one another, opinions, the simplest of pleasures, listening to ourselves think.

All that is to say, don't scoff at nor yearn for the past. Learn from it, and let the rest be.

I acknowledge the folks whose lands I owe my existence to: the Koori people. The traditional owners, storytellers, and first peoples. This land's been tended and lived alongside for millennia with knowledge passed down through generations. What a legacy. May it prevail.
