In Search Of Lost...Editions

Herein you'll find an archived edition of my monthly newsletter: Jan 2025. Hope you enjoy!

Field Notes

What was supposed to be the January (and inaugural edition) is being published today! However, for posterity's sake, I'll only cover happenings of interest from January.

I shall return later this month with February's issue.

And please bear with me as I figure out the formatting for the issues.

I want to ensure it's a record for my own existence, but also pleasurable and useful for you! If you have any suggestions or advice, please email me.

I've achieved much in and around work this month!

A little writing and reading, a few lovely email exchanges, but most has been admin: setting up my zines collection, compiling stories for Echoes Of Distant Stars, my first short story collection, preparing The Mara Files for re-publication, and sorting out my publishing process.

Digital cleaning and mending, if you will!

On the last day of 2024, I posted my goals for the upcoming year. So far, I've achieved two (setting up my store on my site, launching my monthly newsletter.) Onwards!

Feb: A Retroactive Look

A Retroactive Look

Herein you'll find an archived edition of my monthly newsletter: Feb 2025. Hope you enjoy!

Field Notes

This issue... like next month's is being published in the middle of April. Long overdue!

I have no excuse except this is the beauty and curse of having a site: it's an infinite time sink of delightful projects and potential.

This was an excellent twenty-eight days for reading. Read so many great books, including a few paperbacks, which I missed after months of only electronic formats.

I participated in the IndieWeb Blog Carnival for the first time, which was great! The idea is encouraging people to post on their sites more often. It fits the bill! I've signed up to be a host, but that's not until 2026! Still something to look forward to, as far into the future as it is.

Sara hosted a special IndieWeb Homebrew Website Club meeting about writing, so you know I attended! The conversations were fascinating and varied. I'd love to host one in the future. I also attended the monthly 32 Bit Cafe webweaving workshop for the first time. Such fun!

This February was, as it always is, a short, yet pleasant month.

Jun: Moving Right Along

Moving Right Along

Herein you'll find an archived edition of my monthly newsletter: Jun 2025. Hope you enjoy!

Field Notes

We're just going to ignore how I haven't published my 'monthly' newsletter for three.

This year's proving an excellent one for the poetic web. Two amazing projects released: the Internet Phone Book and the Good Internet Magazine. I'm proud to say I contributed to both!

I was alerted to Kami's excellent idea of trading blog post titles by the lovely Ava, and am pleased to say I'm engaging in this project! If you'd like to trade with me, please contact me. Hooray for getting myself to write more.

I have a few things in the works I'll be able to share in the coming months...that's it, really.

A colorful, stylized digital illustration by Zachary Kai featuring a stack of five books in shades of blue, teal, green, and purple, each with bold black geometric or abstract spine designs. A leafy green plant is tucked behind the top book, its fronds spreading upward. On either side of the stack is a purple heart.

Acknowledgement Of Country

I acknowledge the folks whose lands I owe my existence to: the Koori people. The traditional owners, storytellers, and first peoples. This land's been tended and lived alongside for millennia with knowledge passed down through generations. What a legacy. May it prevail.
