Collages

My collages (on paper) from 2018-2024. Some pen/markers, always reclaimed papers.

A whimsical mixed-media collage on white paper with a peach-colored border. Features a vibrant red parrot as the focal point, surrounded by a garden-like arrangement of cut-out flowers including coral hibiscus, purple asters, and yellow daffodils. Two detailed blue pen sketches of a single eye appear, dated 2.2.24. Small fleur-de-lis symbols in navy and gold accent the piece. Along the bottom runs a delicate border of autumn leaves in watercolor, ranging from green to burning red. A pink rain cloud hovers in the top left corner. A nautical-themed collage in shades of blue and black. Features a large striped shape framed by scalloped dots, resembling a mysterious underwater cave or portal. A winding blue river or stream cuts through a field of varying sized black dots. The 'Wooden Door Cafe' logo card sits center-right, surrounded by marine elements - tiny seashells, starfish, and cornflowers in deep blue. The design suggests a dreamlike underwater landscape with geometric patterns.
A bold geometric art piece featuring three connected squares against a vibrant turquoise background with subtle watercolor texture. The central diamond showcases a symmetrical pattern in yellow and green with six red circles and crosshatched details. The top and bottom squares mirror each other with curved orange forms and green tick marks along their edges, creating a cohesive abstract design reminiscent of ancient symbols or circuit boards. A lush floral collage framed by hand-drawn arrows and geometric symbols in black ink. Dominated by yellow blooms - chrysanthemums, lilies, and daffodils arranged in an organic cluster. A mysterious red and black abstract pattern sits at the center, suggesting cosmic or cellular forms. In the bottom left corner, an adorable cartoon character sticker of a round creature with rosy cheeks adds a touch of kawaii charm. The piece is bordered by pale yellow stripes.

Digital

Digital art pieces from 2020-2022. Mostly fanart, some portrait studies. (Some made with Autodesk Sketchbook on my old Samsung Tablet, others on an iPad with ProCreate.)

Portrait Studies

Ardent, a character from The Mara Files, a space opera adventure novel I wrote. A person from the Kiramalu species, known for their ram-like horns, many tendrils protrudiong from the sides and back of their head, and markings. Ardent has a moon and star brand on their forehead, and a long scar on the side of their head. A front-facing headshot experimental portrait of Marcus Irris, the main character and subject of my short story, Break Yourself Against The Universe. It depicts half his face, a brown-skinned amphibian hybid humanoid, with flecks of blue scales and webbed ears, several scars, and loose, rough-cut, shoulder length hair. The right side depicts the helmet he uses to hide from the world. A black and white digital sketch portrait of a figure with braided hair, drawn in a confident, sketchy style. The subject faces slightly to the side, wearing a hooded garment. The background features diagonal hatching marks, creating dynamic movement. The drawing emphasizes strong line work and shading techniques.
A detailed digital sketch portrait featuring a figure with long, textured hair and facial hair. The drawing showcases expressive line work, particularly in the hair's flowing strands and facial features. Multiple ear piercings are visible. The sketch has a moody, artistic quality with crosshatched background texture. A striking digital portrait sketch of a figure wearing an elaborately wrapped headpiece. The subject wears a decorative circular earring and a choker necklace with round beads. The drawing style combines clean lines with subtle shading, set against a textured, cloudy background. The composition has a regal, composed quality.
An energetic digital sketch portrait of a figure with voluminous, naturally curly hair that flows dramatically to one side. The subject wears a polka-dotted top and circular earrings, captured in a three-quarter view with a warm, engaging expression. The drawing style emphasizes movement and joy through flowing lines and dynamic composition. A black and white digital illustration of a young woman sitting casually on a brick wall ledge. She has long, wavy hair and is wearing a cropped top with chevron cutouts, a vest over the top, mesh sleeves, loose pants with a sun emblem belt, and chunky sneakers. She's got multiple piercings: in both ears, under one eyebrow, and under her mouth. Her pose is relaxed, with her legs dangling over the edge. The background has a subtle textured pattern.

Gods' Eyes

Made from second-hand yarn and found old wood. To me, they represent meditative renewal and nature's beauty.

Desert Mirage: a gods eye made from blue, orange, and red yarn. Indigo Crossings: a gods eye made from blue, indigo, white, and white with orange and purple flecks yarn.

Traditional

My drawings (on paper) from 2018-2024. Gray lead pencil, markers, pencil, pen...

A dreamy landscape drawing in colored pencil featuring rolling yellow-green hills beneath a light blue sky with wispy clouds. A winding river in shades of blue and purple curves through the scene, while angular mountains peek in from the corner. The style is loose and atmospheric, with visible pencil strokes creating texture throughout. An abstract pattern drawing featuring horizontal bands of vibrant red, blue, and green. Each color band contains distinct shapes - the red sections have a cityscape-like silhouette, the blue bands contain geometric blocks, and the green sections ripple like waves or mountains. The colors are bold and saturated, with a satisfying rhythm to the repeating patterns.
A black and white ink drawing with a pink border, featuring three abstract cloud-like shapes floating in a dotted landscape. The shapes have wavy outlines and are surrounded by intricate stippled dots. Radiating lines burst from the left corner like sunbeams, and organic black forms anchor the corners. A pencil sketch of a whimsical beach scene where three palm trees create a hammock-like formation. One palm tree in the middle bends playfully to support a stick figure reading a book. The sun sets over a wavy ocean horizon, while delicate lines create texture in the sky and water. The drawing has a gentle, storybook quality with careful attention to the palm fronds' feathery details.

Acknowledgement Of Country

I acknowledge the folks whose lands I owe my existence to: the Koori people. The traditional owners, storytellers, and first peoples. This land's been tended and lived alongside for millennia with knowledge passed down through generations. What a legacy. May it prevail.
